Prepay Nation partners with Smart for East African expansion
Berwyn, PA, June 9, 2015 — Prepay Nation, a leading provider of cross-border prepaid mobile airtime transfers, has partnered with Smart, East Africa’s newest, customer-centric mobile operator and solutions provider, to expand its operations to Burundi, Tanzania and Uganda. With this partnership, individuals living in the US, Canada and Europe will be able to transfer airtime minutes to Smart customers from a network of over 175,000 retail locations and websites, avoiding expensive service fees.
The partnership will provide thousands of expatriates from Burundi, Tanzania and Uganda with access to instant International Mobile Top-Up (IMTU) service through Prepay Nation’s rapidly-expanding distribution network. IMTU is becoming the preferred method of family support for immigrants around the world, who can take advantage of global mobile network penetration to send support to their family and friends back home, without worrying about the cost.
“Smart is an excellent partner for us,” said Hervé Perrin, VP of Business Development at Prepay Nation. “Smart gives us new products that we can offer to the African Diaspora world-wide.”
