About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and strategic HR Manager to lead the human resources function for our Mumbai office. This is a critical position, requiring someone who is equally comfortable in hands-on recruitment and operational tasks as they are in driving culture, employee engagement, and strategic talent initiatives. This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, multicultural environment and is looking to take ownership of end-to-end HR responsibilities – from recruitment and compliance to employee engagement and culture-building.
Key Responsibilities
1. Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for roles across departments in Mumbai.
- Develop local talent pipelines through job portals, agencies, and employer branding strategies.
- Oversee seamless onboarding and orientation processes for new hires.
2. HR Operations & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Indian labor laws, employment contracts, and HR documentation.
- Maintain accurate employee records and handle statutory filings
- Liaise with legal counsel or HR consultants to stay updated on local regulatory changes.
- Monitor and improve employee satisfaction and retention.
3. Employee Engagement & Culture
- Plan and execute employee engagement activities to drive motivation, team bonding, and retention.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns, grievances, and performance-related discussions.
- Implement global HR initiatives while localizing them to fit the Mumbai context.
4. Office Management (Mumbai)
- Coordinate with vendors, IT, and facilities teams to ensure smooth daily operations in the Mumbai office.
- Foster a safe, compliant, and inclusive workplace.
5. Global HR Support
- Collaborate with the Executive Admin leadership to align policies, performance reviews, and learning initiatives across teams.
- Provide administrative and strategic HR support for cross-border teams as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5–8 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a tech, fintech, or fast-growth global company.
- Strong knowledge of Indian employment laws and statutory compliance.
- Proven experience in recruitment, employee relations, and HR operations.
- Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders across geographies.
- Prior experience handling multi-country HR functions is a plus.
